Boston banned Strange Interlude on the grounds
that it was "a pleas for the murder of unborn children, a breeding ground
for atheism and domestic infidelity, and a disgusting spectacle of
immorality." As a result of the ban, the play was booked in the nearby
city of Quincy in September of 1929. |
